Campaign to reopen Chard Junction Station

Action for Chard Town together with Tatworth and Forton Residents Action Group have been campaigning to reopen Chard Junction Station.

A representative, Cllr Andrew Turpin, recently met with David Laws MP and the Transport Minister to discuss the opportunity. Chard Junction is three miles from the town and a connecting bus service would be needed, but with 17,000 people living within three and a half miles of the station, the economic benefits could be large - Exeter is 40 minutes away by train.
