Radstock Network Event - presentations and workshop comments
Representatives from Frome, Ilminster and Wellington travelled to Radstock on June 24th to take part in the latest SMTF Network Event, which looked at opportunities for community regeneration partnerships and town councils to engage more fully in the development process in our towns.

After a tour of the town's key development sites and buildings, delegates heard presentations from Trudi Cannock (Somer Valley Partnership) on Radstock’s regeneration, Derek Hooper (Norton Radstock Regeneration Company) on a major development in the town and Kauro Jakes (Planning Policy Officer, BaNES) on community engagement during their LDF process and links with SVP.

Network Events are for our members to gain an insight into what other towns have delivered – to learn why certain projects are a success and also share potential pitfalls, so that they can draw on those experiences when planning and implementing their projects.

Somerset Market Towns Forum organise regular events like this one around the County for members and provide information-sharing, networking and training services to member towns and information-sharing to others involved in regenerating communities.
