Somerset Rural Shops Fund
Somerset County Council’s Rural Shops Fund is a capital investment fund to sustain and develop rural retail services (e.g. shops, post offices) during the economic downturn. This is a re-focusing of the previous Rural Services Fund.
It is designed to help Villages improve the economic vitality of their community. It has been developed as part of a strategic approach to the County Councils relationship with rural communities across Somerset. Somerset County Council has made available an allocation of £75,000 for the financial year 2010/11.
